Ahmedabad Trip Day3 (Adalaj ni vaav (stepwell), Tri Mandir Adalaj,  Indroda Nature Park, Sabarmati Riverfront)

Adalaj ni vaav (stepwell)

Average time spent: 45min

It is a marvelous work of early civilization. The outsides of the place are not appealing and you won't even believe that something as good as the stepwell is present in that locality. But once you enter you will be breath taken. The beautiful carvings on the sandstone walls are simply marvelous. We were amazed and dazzled by its creator's vision.
A 5 story well has a combination of Hindu and Islamic architecture. 5 floors deep and it gets cooler as you go downward. The usual tale of the Muslim king wanting to marry the defeated Hindu king's vivacious wife and ended with the lady jumping into the well
Great carving on the walls of well. But the government is not giving adequate attention to preserving such great monuments. Spotlights must be installed in the well in dark areas so that its beauty can be captured in camera and in mind of visitors. Security guards need to be deputed in well to keep watch on visitors and ensure that visitors are not harming the monument.
A small temple is also in the same compound.

Tri Mandir, Adalaj:

Average time spent 30min

The Adalaj Trimandir is located 20 km away from the city of Ahmedabad (Gujarat), near the village of Adalaj, on the Ahmedabad-Kalol Highway.

Trimandir (“Three-in-One”) is temple having Gods of Jainism, Shaivism, and Vaishnavism (along with Gods and Goddesses from other religions) with equal reverence on the same platform.
Instead of pursuing moksha (liberation) or Atma (the Self), people have become involved in religious matbhed (separation caused by differences of opinions). Trimandir (non-sectarian temples) are intended to shatter "matbhed".
