Murudeshwar - Gokarna - Kolhapur Trip Pune - Kolhapur - Gokarna - Murudeshwar We wanted to visit Murudeshwar Temple but did not want to do long drive directly from Pune (Approx 564km and 11hr) so we planned a halt at Kolhapur. Day1 (25Dec2022): Pune to Kolhapur (250km, 5hr) We started at 6:30am from Pune (Ravet) and reached Kolhapur at 12:30pm. We halted at Vitthal Kamath Restaurant for breakfast around 9am. In Kolhapur we stayed at "Hotel TrushaDham" (Non AC Room with queen size bed costed 1800rs) which is 900m from Mahalakshmi Temple. We went straight to New Palace. New Palace, Kolhapur Ticket: 40rs Adult, 20rs Kids Parking: Free. Lot of parking space. Palace was really good. I explained different things to my kid. Vaishno Devi darshan and Kashmir Trip I booked train ticket to/from Katra. We also booked Vaishnodevi Yatra Parchi online using below link. Tukai Mata mandir, Baner Parking: It's good to use 2 wheeler rather than 4 wheeler as approach is little conjusted from Baner gaon entry. There is no paid parking and u may park your vehicle as per available place nearby or on road. No dedicated parking. Food: There is no food available on the hill. Water is available at temple. We had our breakfast at Indorilaal snacks center and has lunch at Downdown Food station restaurant which is on the main road.  To visit this temple you have to climb approx 150 steps and 25mins. After climbing approx 25 steps you will see Baneshwar temple in cave which is at base of this hills. Baneshwar temple which is estimated to be 3100 years old. Temple is small but calm. On the way we can see  Carved in a stone.  Tukai Mata Mandir is said to be established about 400 years ago. This temple is situated on Baner hill. Date of visit: 2nd May 2022.  The entrance fee for Sonmarg: 70rs per vehicle. We reached Sonmarg parking by 10am and the driver parked the car there. From here we need to explore the place on a pony or our own. Due to the local Union, they can not go beyond the parking area and can not say anything in deciding the prices. Thajiwas glacier It is 5km from the parking place. It is not very steep. If you do not have kids and elderly people then this easy trek with outstanding views can be done in 2 hrs. No need to hire a horse if your budget does not allow you to hire a pony.  We already did Vaishnodevi yatra so everyone was tired so we decided to hire ponies. We were 4 adults (including my Mom 57yr+) and two kids (7yr old). A horse union person came to us and asked for 1 person 4000rs for pony and 200rs for overcoat and 150rs for shoes.  They mentioned 4 ponies will do and kids can sit with us. Pahalgam  Date of visit:  6 May 2022 We started at 7am from Srinagar and reached Pahalgam at 10am. On the way, we stopped for breakfast at an Apple Garden and enjoyed tasty apple juice and food. We stayed in Hotel Betab Palace in Laripora, Pahalgam. The room was good with an excellent market view. I think one should avoid booking a hotel in Chandanwadi or Aru valley because tourist vehicles can't go there. Only a union taxi can go. We hired a local Union Van for visiting Chandanwadi, Betab Valley, and Aru Valley for 2100rs. The hotel called the driver and he picked us up from the hotel itself. Taxi driver gives you only 1 hr for each place. If it goes above it then they charge 400rs extra for each hour. Please make sure you show time to the driver before and after each point. We had our dinner and breakfast at Pradeep Dhaba. It was tasty and similar to homemade food.
