Ahmedabad Trip Day1 (Kids City, Kankaria Lake, Manek Chawk)

We reached Ahmedabad at 11am. After checking in at the Treebo Ambassador Hotel, we had lunch @ Simran Restaurant near the hotel. @2pm we headed towards Kids city.

Kankaria Lake

A lake is known as Kanakria surrounded by public attractions such as a zoo, toy train, kids city, tethered balloon ride, water rides, water park, food stalls, and entertainment facilities. The lake is very large in the heart of the city. It looks beautiful enough to enjoy cool cold winds and to be charming with such a magnificent lake.

Entry Fee: 100rs for kids, 50 rs for Adults

Time Required: You need 4-5 hours to complete all the activities.

Kids city is located near gate 8 of Kankariya lake. Its actually for the kids within 5-14 years. Kids below 5 yr can do very few activities.

There is a small fire station, hospital, bank, ice cream factory, court, police station, etc.
Kids can dress up as various professionals and can do role-play of various things like fireman, doctor, radio jockey, telephone operators. During this role play, they will learn about the functioning of such public utilities.
Also, the manufacturing process of ice cream is explained.

No proper airconditioning. They are taking rs 50 for parents but they r not allowed inside most of the activities. They are just a visitor.

Recommended :

1.) Fire Station, here, they will show a clipping where it is showed how firefighters battle with fire and then for a practical round
2.) NCC camp where they will show how army training is done.
3.) Havmor Ice cream factory where they would show how ice cream is made and kids will get a bit of ice cream to taste.
4.) Police Station and Court, here kids are assigned different roles like criminal, police inspector, judge, witness, etc. and play a drama in court along with jail. This is a group activity and needs a group of minimum  8 kids who can read the dialogues
5.) The radio station where they will explain how it works with radio and they will also record a clip of ur child and make them listen..it's fun.
6.) The bank is good where they wud explain how loans work, transactions, ATM, etc.
7.) Hospital, here, they have dental equipment, operation theater, etc. and then for practical operation(where kids play the roles of doctor, patient, and nurse) just for learning.

Manek Chawk

This place is having best street food.
You can get pav bhaji, Pulav, dosa, sandwiches, Pizza etc. You will not get any Gujarati Speciallity food. Must try is Asharfilaal's kulfi, we tried several flavours and all were good.
