The outsides of the place are not appealing and you won't even believe that something as good as the stepwell is present in that locality. But once you enter you will be breath taken. The beautiful carvings on the sandstone walls are simply marvelous. We were amazed and dazzled by its creator's vision. A 5 story well has a combination of Hindu and Islamic architecture. 5 floors deep and it gets cooler as you go downward. The usual tale of the Muslim king wanting to marry the defeated Hindu king's vivacious wife and ended with the lady jumping into the well Great carving on the walls of well.
