Panchgani

Pune (Ravet) to Panchgani: 125 km
Trip Duration: 2days, 1 night
We left Ravet, Pune at 11am and reached Panchgani at 3 pm. We took a break for snacks on the way.

Stay @ Brick Land Hotel:
We did not book the hotel so we looked at the Hotel Brickland and Millennium Park. Millennium Park was in the outer area and the hotel staff was not good so we did not stay there. We stayed at Hotel Brickland @2000rs per night. The staff was polite and the service was perfectly good. We had our lunch at the Hotel's own restaurant "Jaffer Bhai's Restaurant". The food was good. At 6pm we went to the Parsi point.

Parsi Point:
Hotel Brick land is just 2 km away from the Parsi point. The weather was good. We enjoyed sunset there n clicked some pics. then we went to Mapro Garden which is 6km from Panchgani.

Mapro Garden, Panchgani:
We did taste many drinks and chocolate samples there and bought some drink syrups and chocolates. Then we enjoyed dinner there and had a famous Mapro sandwich, pizza, and strawberry milkshake.  at 10:30pm we went back to the hotel.

Panchgani Market:
We checked out of the hotel the next morning at 10pm from the hotel and went to the Panchgani market to have breakfast and celebrate my wife's birthday. We bought a cake and enjoyed birthday by having a sandwich, pizza and strawberry cream shakes.

Ghatjai Mata Temple:
We went to Ghatjai Mata Temple which is just 800m from the market. This temple was a cool place with no crowd. After taking darshan we headed towards Sydney point.

Sydney Point:
This is just 2 km away from the Ghatjai temple. Enjoyed beautiful views there. We met some fortune teller s there they told us some things which were true and some things which were generally applicable to most of the people.

Table LandParking: 10rs. Flatland on top of a hill station. The highest point in Mahabaleshwar, Table Land is a stunning mountain plateau. It is basically a laterite rock formation that expands over 95 acres of land, 4500 feet above sea level. It ranks second on the list of the largest plateaus in Asia.

Amazing views, lots of activities like horse riding, shooting range, etc. Cave restaurants etc. There are a lot of film shootings which happen and u can recollect some of them in the movies.

  • Never visit this place in the hot summers especially in the afternoon when the sun is up. You can suffer a heat stroke.
  • Never visit this place when there is a threat of lightning. There have been instances of people struck by lightning here.
  • When the weather is pleasant or after 4pm or early morning is the best time to visit.
  • Spend time here by visiting different corners of this place on foot. It will be memorable. You could view the beautiful mountain ranges and Panchgani town.
  • During rains, some paths are muddy or slushy so beware.
  • If you can bargain with a horse owner to make you gallop here with him. Try it. It's amazing to gallop in the wind.
  • Palmists & face readers are there to entertain if one wishes to.
  • Please be aware of monkeys there are too many of them to accompany you.
  • Small food n game stalls are available.
  • Tiger cave and Den Dine Restaurant in the cave: There are two tiger caves. The history of the cave is linked with Pandavas and their exile. It's amazing for photos. The best thing to experience was the rudimentary cave, sculpted into the hillside with the idol of Lord Shiva. Entry into this cave is 10rs/person. Its a very small restaurant, built inside a cave. Just basic food items like sandwiches or samosa, noodles and hot beverages like tea and coffee.

Mapro Garden, Wai :
At 2:30pm, We headed back and took a break at Mapro garden which is near wai. We had Mapro factory tour and saw bow Mapro syrups and chocolates are made. This tour was of 15 mins and free of cost.
